Earn Your Wings was born at Hunterton Farm in Lexington and was purchased by SRF as yearling at the sale in Lexington.

Earn Your Wings was struggling as a two year old but after being transferred to Anette Lorentzon for the three year old season she matured to become one of the best in her crop during 2016. She finished fifth and fourth in the finals of The Kentucky Futurity Filly and Breeders Crown. She took the record 1:52 and earned $314,530 lifetime.

She has an older sister that took the trotting world by a storm and her name is Mission Brief, world champion as a two year old with 1.08,7 and $1,6 M in lifetime earnings. Her younger brother Tactical Landing was sold for $800,000 at the yearling sale in Lexington 2016 and Breeders Crown Champion in 2018. His total earnings are $812,300. He stood his first year at stud in 2019 for a fee of $15,000.

The dam Southwind Serena earned $388,784 during her racing career and the Breeders Crown at three. She is a sister to The Ice Queen, who is the dam of the great racing mares Ice Attraction 1:50,0/$733,767, winner Kentucky Futurity Filly and World Champion and The Ice Dutchess 1.50,1/$847,161, winner of Jim Doherty.

The maternal line descends from Noccalula and is considered to be one of the best in the world. She herself is the dam of Hambo Oaks winner Ima Lula and the Merrie Annabelle winner Feel The Motion.
